Mythos was born from the love for Greek cuisine of four Greeks who, living in Mexico, gathered to share with their friends and family the cuisine, traditions and culture of Greece. Therefore, Mythos is an extension of this, opening the door of our kitchen to share an authentic experience of eating, drinking and living in the Greek Islands. Marine products, grape leaves, eggplant, garlic, kalamata olives, phyllo dough, extra virgin olive oil, mint and ouzo (a Greek liquor with an anise flavor) are some of the main flavors found in our menu. As in any tradition anchored in the sea, the ingredients are fresh and the techniques are rustic. The secret lies in letting the products speak for themselves in light and representative dishes of the coast. They offer classic dishes such as tzatziki, a dip made with Greek yogurt, cucumber, and dill; grape leaf rolls, phyllo dough empanadas and a smaller version of the Greek taco, gyros. A standout dish is our Greek salad, where the house feta cheese, kalamata olives and extra virgin olive oil make all the difference. Another dish that will make you come back for more is the htapodi sti skara, grilled marinated octopus with a herbal touch of oregano, capers and a hint of lemon. I also recommend the Paros-style shrimp. The sauce is creamy and you can really taste the ouzo and fennel, which add a slightly sweet and anise flavor. It comes with a side of steamed rice, although a more imaginative option would not hurt. For dessert, treat yourself to the galaktobureko, a semolina custard with a phyllo dough crust.
